Summary of Position:
To ensure the safe & accurate timely delivery of customer’s products, within the correct temperature range. Ensure proof of delivery paperwork is signed and completed correctly, returning it to the Admin Team daily to allow invoicing of jobs. Ensure company vehicles are kept clean and tidy for use and also reporting any damages or repairs needed to the Fleet Manager. The job holder will ensure that all legal health & safety requirements are promoted within their area of responsibility and fulfil their duties in accordance with Thermo Logistics’ health & safety policies and procedures.
Checking load safety of vehicle before departure - Ensure stock is loaded correctly in order of deliveries, and that the stock is secured to ensure safe transit.
Delivering customer orders - Customer orders are delivered to the correct address, at the correct time, in the correct quantities and in the condition expected i.e. no damages to goods or packaging, no leaks or spillages and within acceptable temperature conditions.
Accurate record of deliveries - All proof of delivery sheets are completed (signed, dated, temperature recorded) by person receiving the goods and to the standards requested by our customers. PODs to be returned in a clear, clean and legible condition to the Admin Office at the end of each shift.
De-briefing procedures followed - Completed de-brief sheet fully with name, date, reg of van, start & finish mileage, starting fridge temperature; details of run(s) completed and times completed, details of fuel purchased with accompanying receipt, end mileage , end time, details of any repairs needed to vehicles.
Maintenance of company vehicles - All rubbish to be emptied from the vehicles on a daily basis. Smoking is not permitted in any company vehicle. At the start of every shift the following basic maintenance is to be carried out on every vehicle before it leaves the yard – check oil level and top up if necessary, check washer bottle, check tyre pressure and tread. Defects must be reported.
